Big Plans and Big Flower Hauls Mean a Bigger Team

We hope you made it through winter storms unscathed! We tend to fare pretty well most years, maybe losing a crop or two that was already looking rough from routine frosts. One of these days we’ll figure out how to make the tricky ones happy on our farm, or we’ll stop trying.

Ninety percent of farming is planning. Planning what will bloom when. Planning how to time crops and estimate yields. Planning how to get all the work done. And most importantly, planning how to get flowers into your hands.

Part of that planning is people. Over the years our team has grown from just the two of us to a small crew, and every season brings its own reshuffling as life happens, people move, priorities shift, and we figure out our new normal.

Which means we’re often hiring. We look for two to three part-time crew members each season to help us out. If you know someone who would love meaningful, hands-on work surrounded by flowers, we’d be so grateful if you shared our opening with them.

In the winter and early spring we’re usually planting, cleaning up after freezes, and starting the first seed trays for summer. And boy, are we growing a lot of flowers.

We’re already thinking ahead to the next Spring Flower Club, with stunning double, fringe, and parrot tulips in the works, and anemones, ranunculus, and more right behind them.
