Paper Bird, Season 7: A New Chapter Begins

It’s hard to believe we’re about to jump into another flower season. Things have looked a little different for us every single year since we started this farm back in 2019.

Here’s roughly how the seasons have gone: the first year was all COVID-19, brand new to farming, newlyweds, Peter working full time in downtown Dallas, and our very first farmers market. The next year we welcomed our son and figured out farmers markets with a fresh baby in tow. The year after that we were still learning how to grow a tiny child and grow flowers at the same time, and we started our grocery program. Then Peter went part time on the farm while we took on more markets, florist sales, and deliveries. Eventually we hired our first full-time employee and Peter joined the farm full time, alongside the farm stand and Spring Flower Club and Central Market.

Now we’re adding a second full-season farmers market, going full speed ahead on grocery, growing our farm stand, watching our Spring Flower Club membership climb, and welcoming new part-time crew members alongside our core team.

All this to say: growth has been slow and intentional. We didn’t get here overnight, and we’ve learned a lot along the way.

Some days we still can’t believe this is what we’re doing with our lives, in the best way. We’re grateful, and we’re determined to make this business flourish. We’ve poured our time, energy, and whole hearts into this farm, and we can’t wait to keep growing together.
